Vinayak Hegde started learning Hindustani Classical Music right from childhood as a family legacy in Vocal, Tabla and Harmonium from father late Govind Hegde Kalbhag and under the family Guru Pt.S.M Bhat Kattige. The love of his siblings always made sure to fine tune the skills with proper practice. He learnt Gayaki and Tantrakari ang of the music for years at home in India. Currently he is being trained in Khayal Gayaki, Tumri, Bhajan, Gazals and other classical and light musical miles in the journey of Hindustani Music by Agra Gharana Toronto’s well known artist Pt. Narendra Datar. Popular elder brothers, Pt.Parameshwar Hegde of Kirana Gharana and Pt.Gopalakrishna Hegde inspire and guide Vinayak.
Vinayak Hegde has performed Hindustani classical vocal concerts in various places in GTA, Montreal, New Jersey, Buffalo, Chicago, Pittsburgh and prestigious conventions in North America and India. He has creatively experimented with instrumental and vocal jugalbandhi concerts. He has been an active contributor in the Indo-Canadian community since last several years. Helping organizations and community thru teaching Hindustani classical music, being a panel judge in competitions, organizing successful musical programs are a few examples for the blessings, support and love people have showered on him in his musical career. These make him seek more and grow.
